Abstract:

PURPOSE: To use an optical fiber terminal mechanism immediately after assembling by attaching a tip part of an optical fiber to an attaching member, and arranging the attaching member in a supporting member and fixing it temporarily.

CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber connecting device consists of an adapter 21, optical fiber terminal mechanism 22, and cap nut 23. The terminal mechanism 22 is equipped with a cylindrical supporting member, e.g. a housing 24, the attaching member for the optical fiber, e.g. an optical fiber plug 25, and a cap nut 26 for calking. A temporary fixing through hole 28 for fixing the plug 25 to the housing 25 temporarily, adhesive injecting hole 31 for primary fixation, and an air vent through hole 32 are formed in the wall part of the housing 24. The plug 25 is inserted into the housing 24 and instantaneous adhesives 53 are charged in the temporary fixing through hole 28 to fix the plug 25 to the housing 24 immediately; and the adhesive injecting through hole 31 and air vent through hole 32 are sealed with tapes, etc. Thus, the optical fiber connecting device is used immediately right after assembled.
