Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out the vapor-phase aldol condensation reaction on an industrial scale at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: Aldol condensation of a compound containing active hydrogen is carried out in vapor phase in the presence of a fixed bed solid catalyst by using an indirect heat-transfer nonisothermal reactor.
