PURPOSE: To manufacture a hologram having a solid image whose individual picture element is uniform and steady in a very short time.
CONSTITUTION: Master holograms 48 to limit the direction of diffracted light are piled up on the surface of photosensitive material 11, and space light modulating elements 12 are arranged on them, and the strength of transmitted light at a corresponding position is controlled by the element 12 according to image data to emit laser light from the face of the element 12. In another way, the master holograms 48 to restrict the direction of the diffracted light are piled up on the surface of the photosensitive material 11, and the elements 12 are arranged on the surface opposite to the above surface of the photosensitive material 11, and the strength of the transmitted light at a corresponding position is controlled according to the image data to emit the laser light from the face of the element 12, and this work is repeatedly executed by exchanging the master hologram piled up on the surface of the photosensitive material 11 and the image data.
