Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the last stage of charge of a cell whose deterioration is serious even if unevenness of capacity among cells occurs and to reduce lowering of characteristics of charge-discharge cycle by mounting thermistors on a cell. CONSTITUTION:Three thermistors 3 are used. Any of them is mounted between two adjacent cells 2, and those three thermistors 3 are connected in series by lead wires 4. The wires 4 at both ends of the wires 4 to connect the thermistors in series are each connected to temperature measuring terminals 7 and 8. Even if deterioration due to repeated charging and discharging (the so-called cycle deterioration) is caused with the result that unevenness of capacity between the cells 2 occurs it is thereby possible to accurately detect the last stage of charge of the cell 2 whose deterioration is serious by detecting the surface temperature of the cell 2 by the thermistor 3. It is therefore possible to prevent overcharge and lowering of charge-discharge cycle characteristics of battery as the whole.
