PURPOSE: To obtain new imidazolyl-substituted cyclohexane derivatives useful for the treatment or the like of arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis, in addition, of coronary artery disease, heart failure, disease of cerebral function, ischemic cerebral disease or, edema.
CONSTITUTION: A imidazolyl-substituted cyclohexane derivative of formula I [A is alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl and B is H, halogen or perfluoroalkyl; D is -CH2-OR3 (R3 is H or alkyl), -CO-R4 (R4 is H, OH or alkoxy); R1 is H, halogen, nitro, OH, CF3, trifluoromethoxy, alkyl, alkoxy or the like; R2 is -CO-R5 (R5 is OH or alkoxy) or the like] and its salt e.g. t-butyltrans-2-[4-(2-butyl-4- chloro-5-formyl-imidazol-1-yl-methyl)phenyl]-cyclohexane-1-carboxylate is obtained by reacting new compound of formula III (E is leaving group; R11 is alkocarbonyl or the like with a compound of formula IV to form a compound of formula V and then, substituting R11 for R2.
