EXAMPLE: 7-[ 5-( 2-Chloroacetylaminothiazol-4-yl )-2-imino-4-oxo-1,3-dihydrothiazin- 3-yl]-3-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid benzhydryl ester.
USE: An antibacterial agent having a wide range of antibacterial spectrum, effective even against resistant Gram-negative bacteria.
PREPARATION: For example, a compound shown by the formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula MSCN[M is alkali (earth) metal] to give a compound shown by the formula III, which is reacted with a compound shown by the formula IV to give a compound shown by the formula I {with the proviso that Y is -S(C=NH)-}.
