Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a package which makes it possible to test an active medical device in sterile condition.

CONSTITUTION: A package 10 for an active medical device 11 comprises following items; a film member 15 with a pocket 16 having a concave portion 13 for accommodating the device, a flange 17 around the concave portion 13, a wall 18 with an opening which forms an access passage to the outside of the pocket 16, a lid 12 which covers the concave portion 13 to keep its inside sterilized, a connection portion 14 which is fit through a flat part of the wall 18 of the pocket to ensure a sterile condition inside the concave portion. The connection portion 14 has test means to test the conductor of the device 11. In this way without removing the lid 12 or interrupting a sterile condition electric or optical signals can pass through the connection portion 14.
