PURPOSE: To make it easy to mount and replace an ink ribbon and to clean the inside of the main body of a printer by rotating a cutter unit rotatably and pivotably supported on the main body through a pivot shaft to make the inside of the printer openable.
CONSTITUTION: When the maintenance and inspection are conducted during replacing an ink ribbon 8 and so on, a cutter unit 10 is removed from a stationary member by loosening fixing screws after the current through a solenoid is stopped, and the cutter unit 10 is rotated in the direction (upwards) of (a) with an axis 11 as center and held there. Because this enables freeing the tip end side of a dot head 2, mounting and replacing of the ink ribbon 8 and cleaning the inside of the main body 1 of a printer can be made easily. Furthermore, the maintenance and inspection can be performed easily such as easy removal of jammed sheet of paper 9 and so on.
