CONTROLLNG METHOD OF CONCENTRATING VESSEL BY MEASUREMENT OF OXIDATION-REDUCTION POTENTIAL

Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of supernatant liquid and the ability in sludge dehydration by detecting how much the sludge in a concentration vessel is concentrated through a sensor, and inputting the detection data to a computer and controlling the detention time of the sludge in the concentration vessel to an optimum time. CONSTITUTION:A sludge supply pump 21 supplies inflow sludge 2 to the concentration vessel 1. Further, a sludge drawing-out pump 5 draws the concentrated sludge 3 out. Those pumps 21 and 5 are controlled through a computer 26 by the signal from a sensor 25 which is always set in the concentrated sludge in the concentration vessel 1. This computer 26 stores relation characteristcs (graph) between the previously found oxidation-reduction potential of the sludge and sludge staying time. A corrected oxidation-reduction potential measured value is found from output values of the sensor 25 such as the oxidation-reduction potential, temperature, pH, etc., of the sludge and an estimated sludge staying time and further a limit sludge staying time are calculated from the measured value and said stored relation characteristics, and consequently a sludge supply speed and a sludge drawing-out speed are controlled.
