Title:
GLASS FIBER MATERIAL FOR INFRARED TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5849644
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the titled glass fiber material having excellent infrared transmittance and high stability against the crystallization during drawing, by doping one or more fluorides such as LiF, CsF, etc. to a matrix glass composed mainly of BaF2 and ZrF4.

CONSTITUTION: The glass fiber material is composed of a fluoride glass obtained by doping (A) a matrix glass composed 28W38% BaF2, 58W69% ZrF4, 0W7% GdF3 and 0W8% AlF3 with (B) a compound selected from ≤20% LiF (based on the whole composition), ≤10% CsF, ≤10% CaF2, ≤20% CdF2, ≤12% BeF2, ≤28% SbF3, ≤10% YF3, ≤8% LaF3, ≤8% LuF3 and ≤8% SnF2. The glass transmits infrared rays having wavelength of 2W6μm (all in mol%).
