Title:
PRODUCTION OF MARTENSITIC CHROMIUM STAINLESS STEEL HAVING HIGH TEMPER SOFTENING RESISTANCE AT HIGH TEMPERATURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5825418
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce martensitic chromium stainless steel having high temper softening resistance and strength at high temp. inexpensively by controlling chemical components, suppressing the addition of alloy elements and limiting the conditions for hardening or normalizing.

CONSTITUTION: The steel contg. 0.10W0.40wt% C, ≤1.0% Si, 0.1W1.0% Mn, ≤1.0 Ni, 11.0W16.0% Cr, 0.01W0.10% V, ≤0.10% Al, 0.0070% N, added with 0.02W0.15 Mo according to need, consisting of the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities and satisfying the formula: 20×C%+20×N%-Cr%+10≥0 is hardened or normalized from 925W1,100°C heating temp., then the steel is tempered at temp. above 650°C and below Ac1, whereby the martensitic chromium stainless steel having high temper softening resistance at high temp., strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, etc. is obtained.
