PURPOSE: To prevent the fouling of the succeeding material to be coated due to paints attached to a device even on a plurality of continuous uses by constituting the water-surface transfer printing device so that the waterline section of a tank or a water immersing section in the device can be brought upward from the surface of the water.
CONSTITUTION: A paint reservoir section 5 is supplied with paints by a paint feeder 9, a weir 3 is pulled up, and paints in the paint reservoir section 5 is diffused to a paint diffusing course 6. Consequently, a film 10 is formed on the surface of the water 2, and a material to be coated 7 is immersed to the film 10 and the film on the surface of the water 2 is transferred on the surface of the material to be coated 7, thus obtaining a coated plate 11. Water immersing parts such as a parting plate 4, the weir 3, etc. can be pulled up little by little at every transfer. When a transfer device has been designed so that the wall of a water tank 1 is slid and pulled up, fouling due to the wall of the water tank 1 can also be prevented.
