PURPOSE: To obtain an oscillator having excellent impact resistance and good CI value and temperature characteristics, by fixing a crystral chip in a hole section of a supporting plate having the hole section and fixing the supporting plate to an airtight terminal.
CONSTITUTION: An end of a crystal chip 1 attached with exciting electrodes 2, 2' is inserted to the hole section 7 of the supporting plate 6 and fixed with a conductive and a nonconductive adhesives. Lead terminals 5, 5' are inserted similarly to hole sections 8, 8' of the supporting plate 6 and fixed and connected electrically to conductive adhesives 14, 14'. The lead terminals and the exciting electrodes 2, 2' are connected electrically at metallizing sections 10, 10'. The supporting plate 6 fixed with the crystal chip 1 is fixed to the airtight terminal 3 with an adhesives 13. Thus, the crystal chip 1 is fixed strongly to the hole section and the fixing is made at a part of the end of the crystal chip, reducing the deterioration in the CI value and improving the frequency versus temperature characteristics.
