Abstract:
PURPOSE:To precisely measure the dimension of a plate body in a short time by conducting the binary processing of a taken image, measuring the picture element number of a rectangular part having a partitioned measuring part as one side, and calculating the area of the rectangular part from the picture element number. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup device 13 takes an image including the measuring position (ear part 1B) of a plate body 1. An image processing device determines a threshold from the density difference of a shadow caused in the stepped boundary part of a crude image taken by the image pickup device 13 and conducts the binary processing of the crude image with this threshold to determine an optimum threshold from the area of a measurement target image 33 including the ear part 1B. The crude image is subjected to the binary processing with the determined optimum threshold to measure the number of picture elements of a rectangular part 34 having the calculated ear part 1B as one side. The picture element number is multiplied by a preliminary determined area per picture element to calculate the area A of the rectangular part 34. The area A is divided by the length of the preliminarily determined side of the rectangular part 34 or a cut width Y, whereby the dimension a0 of the ear part 1B is calculated. Thus, the appearance of an abnormal dimension by the presence of a defective part 35 can be prevented.
