PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a level by reducing the number of components and by designing the structure thereof suitable for automated assembly thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A frame 17 having working surfaces 18, 20 and a web part 25 connected thereto is formed therein with a hole having a pair of cutouts for attaching grass tubes 14, 15 charged therein with liquid. A circuit board incorporating a light emitting diode 35 for illuminating the glass tubes and a switch 92 for turning on and off the diode is clamped between one of lids attached to opposite sides of the frame 17, and the web part 24. Further, a battery packed in a battery holding space formed in an end part of the lid, and the circuit 13 is connected together by a connecting device 102 spanning over a wall part 74 serving as a boundary between a circuit holding part 72 and a battery holding part 76, and accordingly, the lever can be assembled through automatic dropping.
