Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of shearing thickness and produce a pile fabric having uniform thickness. CONSTITUTION:A pile fabric 10 woven in the form of a narrow web is extended between tension-controlling bars 14-20, tension-controlling rolls 21, 22 and a dancer roll 28 and the cloth surface is pressed against the circumferential surface of a hot drum 13 during transportation to effect the heat-setting of the fabric. When the tension applied to the pile fabric 10 is varied, the dancer roll 28 is lifted or lowered to vary the rotational speed of the hot drum 13 and keep the tension of the pile fabric 10 to a definite level. The pile fabric 10 having heat-set surface is transported toward a pair of shearing apparatuses 41, 42 placed at the downstream side of the dancer roll 28. The piles of the pile fabric 10 are continuously cut by the shearing apparatuses 41, 42 to obtain a pile fabric 10 having uniform thickness.
