Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium which has a high reflectivity, good contrast and excellent preservable property by using a specific compd. for the recording layer of the optical recording medium which generates a state change by a laser beam, thereby making recording and reproducing. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer contg. the 9,19-dioxadinaphto-[3,2,1-de:3,2,1- op]pentacene deriv. having the dye skeleton expressed by the formula [X is C=(CN)2 or O] is provided on the substrate of the optical recording medium which generates the state change by the laser beam thereby making recording and reproducing. This dioxadinaphtopentacene deriv. permits easy vapor deposi tion and has high solubility in an org. solvent; therefore, the application thereof by coating is possible; in addition, such deriv. has the high reflectivity, good contrast and excellent preservable property. The optical recording medium provided with the recording layer contg. such deriv. is thereby easily and effi ciently produced. Various characteristics of recording, reproducing, etc., are good and since the stability is high, this medium is widely used for optical recording media which execute recording and reproducing by using a laser.
