PURPOSE: To prepare an enamelled product having a thick glaze layer by one process wherein glaze sheet consisting of glaze frit powder and fibrous substance and a ground coat sheet consisting of a ground coat frit powder and fibrous substance are placed on a substrate in a superposed state to be baked.
CONSTITUTION: A ground coat frit powder, fibrous substance such as a pulp fiber or the like and, according to necessity, a mill additive, an aggregation agent, a binder or the like are mixed and dispersed in water to prepare a ground coat slurry which is, in turn, dehydrated by a sheetmaking process to fabricate a ground coat sheet. Similarly, a glaze sheet is obained from a glaze frit powder, fibrous substance or the like. In the next step, the ground coat sheet 2 obtained by the above mentioned process is placed on a substrate 1 such as a steel plate, an aluminum plate, a ceramic plate or the like and the glaze sheet 3 is further placed on the upper surface of said sheet 1 and the whole is baked to obtain an enamelled product. The above mentioned sheets are formed as thick layers or recessed and protruded parts may be formed on the glaze sheet to make it possible to obtain a product rich in decorative effect.
