Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically position a defective portion of a bar-shaped metal material to a setting point of a machining equipment by receiving a signal which detects as a digital quantity a flaw location of the bar-shaped metal material from a fixed point and by moving the bar material in both axial and circular directions.

CONSTITUTION: When a bar-shaped material 1 where its marked reference point is positioned at a setting point, is inserted into an inner sleeve 7 and brought to a halt. By receiving a signal which is equivalent to an axial direction distance l from the reference point to a defective point, a pulse oscilator allow a motor 17 to drive, thereby rotating drive rollers 15 and 15'. Therefore, the bar material 1 moves axially by the distance l. Then, a clutch cylinder 12 operates and the roller 15 and 15' are disconneted. By receiving a signal which is equivalent to a rotary angle θ from an axially extended line of the reference point to the position of defect, a pulse oscilator 19, a pulse generation disk 18, and a motor 20 allow the inner sleeve 7 to rotate, thereby positioning the bar member 1 to the setting position of a machining equipment.
