PURPOSE: To enable a disklike or cylindrical plastic capacitor to be produced conforming to the shape of an equipment equipped with it by a method wherein the dielectric body of the capacitor is replaced with a molded body of organic material.
CONSTITUTION: Organic material 1 such as polyethylene terephthalate which meets necessary high frequency characteristics is formed into a disk, a cylinder, or the like, and an electrode is provided to the opposed surfaces and the inner- outer circumferential surfaces of them through electroless meshes for the formation of a capacitor. When a high frequency or high voltage capacitor is formed, an electrode periphery 5 and the edge of the organic material 1 are partially formed thick-walled, whereby the capacitor is prevented from deteriorating in breakdown strength due to the concentration of an electrical field on the end of an electrode. A protective paint coating film or the like is partially applied to terminals 6 and 7 which are formed so as to also serve as a heat sink. By this setup, a capacitor which is simple in structure, easily handled, lightweight, low in fraction defective, suitable for small lot production, lessened in manufacturing cost, and surely delivered in time can be obtained.
