PURPOSE: To easily manufacture a projection type cathode ray tube with good light emission efficiency by impregnating a phosphor film with conductive material and using a solution obtained by adding silicate to the pertinent conductive material, at the time of impregnation.

CONSTITUTION: The solution obtained by adding the ethylsilicate of about 5wt% to the diluting solution is used and this solution is infiltrated into a phosphor film and thereby a projection type cathode ray tube is completed. When it is operated at the input energy intensity of 1.5mW/mm2, viscosity of solution increases due to addition of the ethylsilicate and a conductive material easily adheres, thus suppressing drop of light emitting efficiency by about 5% are more. Adequate addition of ethylsilicate is 10wt% or less.
