PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic washing apparatus capable of enhancing the washing effect of a work without lowering working efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: The lift means 3 of a washing apparatus is equipped with a pair of support parts 12 having an almost horizontal U-shaped cross section coming into contact with the left and right side parts of a work receiving basket 2 to support the basket 2 and pivotally supported in a freely rotatable manner, a drive means 14 rotationally driving the support parts 12, the fixing means 19 coming into contact with the front and rear side parts of the work receiving basket 2 to fix the basket 2 to the support parts 12 and a fixing release means 26 releasing the fixing of the work receiving basket 2. The work receiving basket 2 is allowed to fall toward the interior of a washing tank 1 from above to be rotated and subsequently raised from the washing tank 1 to be returned to the original position.
