Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten and simplify the impregnation and curing of a photosetting resin monomer liquid curable by visible rays and to simplify production stages by impregnating the front layer part of the wooden drum stick with this resin monomer liquid, then curing the resin monomer liquid by photoirradiation. CONSTITUTION:Dry timber of about 10wt.% equiv. moisture content is cut to the final shape and the wooden drum stick is formed by subjecting this timber to finish working. The part not to be impregnated with the resin is previously coated with an urethane coating material. The photosetting resin monomer liquid is poured on the wooden drum stick to coat the stick with the liquid and this stick is transferred into a pressured vessel so that the stick is impregnated with the resin from its surface. The gaseous pressure used for pressurization is 1 to 10kgf/cm<2> and the pressurization is executed for 5 to 30 minutes. The drum stick is then taken out of the vessel and the resin on the surface is removed and is cured by casting visible rays thereto. The resin monomer liquid is a compsn. essentially consisting of a photopolymn. initiator, a vinyl polymerizable monomer and a multifunctional polymerizable (meth) acrylate.
