Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain weld metal for low boron stainless steel, by using magnesia contg. a specified amt. of boron for a submerged arc welding flux for stainless steel.
CONSTITUTION: Weld metal of low boron stainless steel contg. ≤5ppm boron is obtd. by using a submerged arc welding flux for stainless steel contg. 15W40% magnesia of ≤0.04% boron content, 10W40% alumina, 1W15% carbonate and 5W20% fluorite. More particularly, the welding flux suited for use as a welding material for nuclear purposes is obtd.
