Title:
OPTICAL CONNECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6059306
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain easily an optical connector having an intricate shape by pressurizing a resin material so that said material is infiltrated into the fine holes of a ferrule for the optical connector consisting of a ceramic material.

CONSTITUTION: A ferrule 31 and a sleeve 41 are formed of a ceramic material and are disposed with numerous fine holes on the surface thereof. A resin material is pressurized so as to be forced and infiltrated into the fine holes to form the dense surface 5 of the ceramics. The fine holes 51 are therefore filled with the resin material. Coloring of the ceramics is thus made possible by forming a surface hvaing the holes 51 over the entire surface of the ceramics or a part thereof and infiltrating under pressurization powder having a color such as a pigment into the parts of the holes 51. The position and direction where the ferrule 31 and the sleeve 41 are fitted are thus determined and the optical connector having an intricate shape is easily manufactured.
