Title:
MANUFACTURE OF SPHERICAL POLYPROPYLENE RESIN BEADS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6049034
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain high-quality titled beads by dispersing original polypropylene resin beads in a medium together with specific dispersant followed by heating to not only enable the dispersant to be repeatedly used without reducing dispersion effect but rather enhance the effect.

CONSTITUTION: First, polypropylene resin beads (pref. of ethylene-propylene random copolymer) (hereafter referred as "beads") are dispersed in a medium (pref. water) in a heating tank together with a dispersant comprising basic magnesium carbonate, talc, and aluminum oxide and/or aluminum hydroxide, being heated, while agitating, to the melting point of said beads plus 10°C or higher to prepare spherical beads. The resulting beads are separated from the medium and the dispersant followed by recovering the dispersant which is then returned to the heating tank. The above process is successively repeated, thus obtaining the objective beads.

EFFECT: Capable of saving dispersant, dispersing medium and thermal energy.
