PURPOSE: To make safety running attainable, by judging anything unusual in an accelerator pedal sensor in a way of detecting a fact that output voltage of the said sensor or a potentiometer is out of the specified voltage range, while forming a presetting value as an accelerator value according to the state of an idle switch and a wide open switch in time of trouble judgment.
CONSTITUTION: A sliding contact 12 of an accelerator pedal sensor (AP) 1 is made possible to be free of rotation, for example, to the extent of 0W60° and outputs the voltage in response to a turning angle of the accelerator pedal sensor AP. In addition, an AP setting reference turning angle or an actual working angle is set, for example, to a range of 14W46°. In this case, an idle switch (ISA) 4a is turned to ON in time of idling and its on-off operation is made to take place at 5W20° but OFF at 20W50° in the AP turning angle. On the other hand, a wide open switch (WSA) 4b is turned to ON in time of maximum pedaling and it is made so as to be turned to OFF at 5W37° in the AP turning angle and at 37W50° to be turned to both on-off operations. In time of trouble judgment, a presetting value is outputted as an accelerator value according to the state of both switches, ISA and WSA.
