PURPOSE: To obtain a porous molding having any desired pore diameter and a low apparent density, by mixing a molding resin material with a water-soluble inorganic powder, molding the mixture and immersing the molding in water to dissolve the water-soluble inorganic substance.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic synthetic resin material such as polyethylene or polypropylene is mixed uniformly with a water-soluble inorganic powder. As the water-soluble inorganic substance, there is preferred magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, or the like. These compounds are adjusted to have a desired particle diameter in the range of 20W300 mesh and are mixed in an amount of about 10W90wt%, based on resin material. Then the purpose molding is prepared by molding the mixture with an injection molding machine or the like and then immersing the molding in water for about 1W3 days and nights to dissolve the water-soluble inorganic substance embedded within the molding gradually from the surface side to the inner side and thereby to form a number of pores within the molding.
