Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a composition having remarkably improved flame-retardance and high-temperature stability without lowering the pysical properties, by adding melem or melone to a polyamide.
CONSTITUTION: A polyamide is compounded with melem and/or melone of formula (n is 1W3). The amount of the additive is 0.5W30wt%, preferably 5W20wt% based on the resin. Melem can be prepared by calcining melamine at 400W500°C for several hours, and melone is obtained by calcining melamine at 500W550°C until emission of ammonia cannot be observed.
