PURPOSE: To enable simultaneous fabrication of the core part and the clad part of a 3-dimensional circuit having a light guide round in the section by making distributions of two unreacted monomers contained in a polymer and a gel uniform, and perfectly polymerizing them through overall irradiation of UV rays or overall heating.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture 1 of liquid monomers high and low in refractive index, when needed, contains a photosensitizer in the case of low photosensitivity, and a cross-linking agent, etc., for insolubilizing, in solvents, a 3-dimensional optical circuit obtained by polymn. UV rays low in intensity are irradiated on the surface of the liquid mixture 1 with a mirror 5, and at the same time, UV rays 6 high in intensity are irradiated on it with a mirror 7. At that time, a base plate 2 is gradually sunk down into the mixture 1 and a polymer is produced. A part of monomers is polymerized on the part exposed to the rays 4 and converted into a gel contg. a large amt. of remaining monomer, and most of the monomers in the part exposed to the rays 4 to form a polymer 9 contg. a small amt. of remaining monomer. This monomer is separated from the base plate 2 and polished to obtain a light guide.
