PURPOSE: To obtain a distributor for an internal combustion engine, which is uniform in the quality of products and is operated with low noises and at a low discharge voltage, by forming a caulking section and a protruded section on the surface to which a rotor electrode is to be fixed, and holding a dielectric plate in tight contact with said surface by means of a resilient metal electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor electrode 20 is made in the form of a laminate consisting of an electrode 21 in the form of a bent, elongated metal plate made of a resilient material and a dielectric plate 22 of a silicon glass or the like having the same shape as the electrode 21. On the other hand, a rotor 30 is made of an insulating material and formed at its head 30a with a groove 30b for receiving the electrode 20. A caulking section 31 serves to fix the rotor electrode 20 to the rotor 30 and to hold the metal plate electrode 21 and the dielectric plate 22 in tight contact with each other. By employing such an arrangement that the metal plate electrode 21 and the dielectric plate 22 constituting the rotor electrode 20 are held in tighr contact with each other, it is enabled to obtain a distributor for an internal combustion engine, which is uniform in the quality of products and is operated with low noises and at a low discharge voltage.
