PURPOSE: To accelerate access and to reduce power consumption in a disk device reproducing or recording a disk constituted to reproduce/record data in a constant linear velocity.
CONSTITUTION: By a switch command unit 18, the optical disk 1 recorded in the constant linear velocity is divided to plural blocks, and a command value is outputted according to the reproducing block. The disk is rotated in the constant linear velocity by controlling so that the number of revolution is varied continuously according to a reproducing position in the block with a synchronizing clock generating unit 9 and a disk rotation controller 16. Further, when the reproducing position is changed from a certain block to the other block, the number of frequency divisions of frequency dividers 19, 20, 21 are varied in the same proportion by the command value, and a frequency of a reference clock of a maximum time width detector and a central frequency of a synchronizing clock generating unit and the frequency of the reference clock used for a frame synchronism detector are varied.
