PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of copying by decreasing a waiting period of time of paper re-feeding for both side copying or the like as less as possible with respect to the digital copying machine.

CONSTITUTION: The copying machine is provided with a picture read section IR, a picture storage section storing picture data, a printer section PRT forming image on paper based on the picture data read from the picture storage section and a paper re-feeding section 600, forming of a 1st time picture onto paper is continuously performed based on picture data on an odd numbered page stored in the picture storage section, the paper on which the picture is formed is made to stand by on the paper re-feeding section 600, and when the capacity of the picture storage section is fully occupied, the paper stood by on the paper re-feeding section 600 is fed again, on which a 2nd time picture is formed, then the fully occupied memory state of the picture storage section is eliminated to store picture data of a succeeding original.
