PURPOSE: To obtain a trialkenyl ether useful as a starting material for a polyim ide having moldability and excellent in heat resistance and mechanical properties by using a specified ether compound having three alkenyl groups in the mole cule.
CONSTITUTION: A trialkenyl ether of the formula (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each H or methyl) is provided. A cured product of a resin composition comprising a trialkenyl ether of the formula and a polymaleimide compound is excellent in heat resistance and mechanical properties, and is useful as an electrical insulation material or a laminate-forming material. The compound of the formula can be easily produced, for example, from a trisphenol such as 1-[1,1-bis(4- hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]-4-[1-methyl-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]benzene and 3- halopropane and/or 3-halo-2-methylpropene.
