PURPOSE: To coil a thin alloy sheet stably and to improve productivity in the stage of coiling said sheet formed by a quick cooling method for molten metal by changing the rotating torque of a power reel before and after coiling.
CONSTITUTION: In a quick cooling method for molten metal which cools a molten alloy while spraying the same onto the surface of a cooling roll revolving at a high speed and elongating the alloy thinly to a thin alloy sheet, torque is decreased to about the extent at which the speed of the cooling roll is not changed while a power reel is in contact with the cooling roll and the quantity of torque is increased when the power reel detaches from the cooling roll, whereby the thin alloy sheet is coiled firmly over the entire length without breakage.
