Title:
STROKE DETECTION SYSTEM OF CHARACTER READER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS605384
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform stroke detection speedily regardless of whether line width is large or small by classifying remaining sub-stroke which is not classified into any stroke into some stroke, to complement.

CONSTITUTION: A character pattern is made into two-dimensional meshes and binary coded and the continuity of boundary meshes is checked to classify the pattern into the sub-stroke in four directions AWD. Then, it is judged whether each facing kind couple meet such specific pair requirements to be recognized as a boundary on both sides of one character line or not, and a set of satisfactory sub-stroke is classified into one stroke. Further, the remaining sub stroke which are not classified into any stroke is considered as the sub-stroke of different kind, and it is decided whether or not they meet the specific pair condition with the sub-stroke which is already classified into some stroke and the satisfactory sub-stroke is classified into said stroke, thus performing the complement processing.
