Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new mold manufacturing method using reusable material and reducing cost by machining paraffin by NC cutting according to hull dimensional data previously originated by a computer, and finishing the paraffin surface into the smooth surface at the end. SOLUTION: Melted paraffin liquid from a paraffin dissolver is poured into a clearance between a mold and an inner mold and cooled. The mixing components of paraffin 2 are adjusted so that paraffin material 2 has optimum hardness for FRP work. The completed mold is bisected into a starboard and a port and set to a large NC cutter. According to hull dimensional data previously originated by a computer, the surface of paraffin is machined by NC cutting and finally finished into the smooth surface to complete the paraffin surface 3. At the time of measurement inspection, the paraffin mold set to a large surface table is inspected by a large three-dimensional measuring apparatus. Mold manufacturing cost is thereby reduced, and the problem of shortage of mold manufacturing skilled workers is dissolved while making mold material reusable.
