PHOTOCHROMIC MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0741758
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a photochromic material having a high solubility in a polymer and being difficultly crystallizable and precipitable from the solution even after the lapse of time by using a specified compound.

CONSTITUTION: The photochromic material comprises a compound of formula I, II or III (wherein R1, R2, R9, R10, R17 and R18 are each H, 1-20C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl, 6-19C aryl or 0-10C amino; R3 to R8, R11 to R16 and R19 to R22 are each H or OH, 1-20C alkoxyl, 7-15C aralkoxyl, 6-14C aryloxy, 1-20C carbamoyloxy, 1-20C alkyl, 7-15C aralkyl, 6-14C aryl, halo, COOH, 2-20C alkoxycarbonyl, 7-20C aryloxycarbonyl or 1-20C carbamoyl, provided that at least one of R3 to R8, R11 to R16 and R19 to R22 is 1-20C carbamoyloxy; R23 to R28 are each H, 1-20C alkyl or the like; and the members of at least one of pairs: R23 and R24, R25 and R26, and R27 and R28 may be combined with each other to form a 5-20C cyclic substituent).
