PURPOSE: To provide a carrying device which can easily carry out the interruption conveyance of a dissimilar sample with the little lowering of efficiency, and sharply increase the number of continuously carried samples.

CONSTITUTION: A carrying device has a plurality of sample stations 7,8 which can hold a sample carrier 12 to house a plurality of samples 14 or a sample holder 13 to support one of samples 14; a loader 17 to carry the sample 14 held by the sample carrier 12 or the sample holder 13; and a sample station moving means 11 which selects either of sample stations 7,8 and moves it to a position where the loader 17 can be picked up.
