Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a heat radiating quantity from a heat insulating container so as to allow not only a low output operation but also a high output operation and permit electric charge/discharge independently of an outside environmental temperature by regulating a temperature outside of the heat insulating container. SOLUTION: A battery system 1 is constituted such that a predetermined number of module cells are connected in series and in parallel. Each of the module cells is housed in a vacuum heat insulating container 4. The system 1 is air-tightly housed in a vessel 5 made of a heat insulating material having a low-heat insulating property. An exhaust fan 6 and a suction fan 7 are installed on the outer wall of the vessel 5. Furthermore, the system 1 comprises voltage/current monitoring means 9 for detecting a voltage and a current of the module cell so as to control the detected values, module cell control means 10 for detecting a temperature in the module cell so as to control the detected value, and intra-vessel temperature monitoring means 11 for detecting a temperature in the vessel 5 so as to control the detected value. A control computer 8 receives signals indicating a cell resistance, an operating temperature and the like, to thus output a control signal to the control means, based on the values.
