PURPOSE: To improve a six-step transmission so as to reduce structural length in the axial direction and the required number of gears.
CONSTITUTION: This six-step transmission has one drive shaft 11, two intermediate shafts 13, 14 and one driven shaft 15. Gears 20-23 arranged on the drive shaft 11 are respectively engaged with gears 30-33, 40-42 of the intermediate shafts 13, 14 in pairs. Speed change sleeves 35, 36, 44, 45 are useful to connect each one of the gears 30-33, 40-42 in pairs and each of the shafts 13, 14 to bear them to each other impossible to relatively rotate, while the respectively separate gears 20-23 are connected to the shaft 11 to bear them impossible to relatively rotate. Additionally, the intermediate shafts 13, 14 have each one of gears 34, 43, and they are engaged with a gear 50 arranged on the driven shaft 15. The two gears 22, 23 on the drive shaft 11 are simultaneously engaged with each one of the gears 32, 33 on the first intermediate shaft 13 and the separate gears 41, 42 on the second intermediate shaft 15.
