Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a manufacturing method of a cadmium negative plate which can prevent the deterioration of the charge and discharge property of a battery. CONSTITUTION:To an active material powder which consists of a metallic cadmium powder and a cadmium oxide powder, a binder, the water, and at least one of the copolymer of acrylic acid and maleic acid and its salt as a hydration restricter, are added 0.1 to 5.0wt.% to the above active material powder amount. As a result, when the active material powder and the water are mixed and kneaded to form a paste, the hydration of the cadmium oxide is prevented, and the viscosity and the fluidity of the paste are maintained stably, and at the same time, the additive to add to the paste in order to suppress the hydration of the cadmium oxide can be prevented from remaining in a negative plate.
