Abstract:
In the proposed process for the production of open-cell metallic structures using a lost positive model comprising an open-pore plastic substrate having an average pore size of one to three millimetres, a negative model is produced and its core cavities are filled with metal by pouring and the negative model is removed. The production of the negative model is preceded by the following steps: after the plastic substrate has been cleaned, it is wet throughout with an adhesion-promoting resin film which dissolves its surface structures. Thereafter, at least one layer of a self-crosslinking two-component silicone is introduced into or applied to the plastic substrate throughout in order to the strengthen the walls and/or the crosslinked webs of the pore-containing plastic substrate.
