PURPOSE: To provide an image scanning device which detects a paper feed extent and can accurately read and record the images.
CONSTITUTION: The dummy rollers 51 and 52 are provided at the positions before and after a close contact image sensor or a thermal head 1. The high frequency voltage is applied to the piezolectric ceramics 32 and 33 from a high frequency power supply 4. Thus a vibrator 3 vibrates to transfer the original or the recording paper 2 which is touching the apex of the center part 31 of the vibrator 3 toward E. Both rolls 51 and 52 revolve synchronously with the original or the paper 2. Therefore a control part 82 sends a 1-line end pulse to a high speed relay to turn off it and stops the transfer of the original or the paper 2 after the 1-line detection signals are supplied from the encoders 71 and 72 for the paper feed extent. At the same time, a reading/recording start instruction pulse is read and sent to a recording interface part for the reading/recording of images. When a reading/recording end pulse is outputted from a reading/recording interface part 83, the high speed relay is turned on again and the next line is transferred.
