Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the title material reduced in dust thereof and suitable for optical disks, etc., by extrusion-molding the wet powder of a polycarbonate resin having specific particle sizes, water content and organic solvent content with a vented extruder. CONSTITUTION:The wet powder of a polycarbonate resin containing 0.5-10wt.% of water and 0.1-5.0wt.% of an organic solvent (e.g., methylene dichloride) and containing <=80 mesh particles in an amount of <=5wt.% and >=10 mesh particles in an amount of <=5wt.% in the particles of the powder when dried is supplied into a vent type extruder having, e.g., <=150 theoretical surface renewal frequency of vent, and extruded while venting to provide the objective material having a residual organic solvent content of <=50ppm.
