Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treating standard for producing a slag low in Na elution by an absolute minimum amt. of treatment at the time of using a Na-containing molten iron pretreating slag as a roadbed material. SOLUTION: A slag whose basicity CaO/SiO2 (wt. ratio) is less than 1.8 is left as it is crushed and screened, and the slag whose basicity is more than 1.8 and Na2 O concn. in the slag is less than 2wt.% is subjected to an aging treatment in which the slag is brought into contact with steam for more than 24hr after it is crushed and sereend, and the slag whose basicity is more than 1.8 and Na2 O concn. in the slag is more than 2wt.% is subjected to a treatment of bring immersed in water for more than 6hr in succession to the aging treatment in which the slag is brought into contact with the steam for more than 24hr after it is crushed and sereened.
