Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (R1 represents methyl, ethyl or methoxyethyl; R2 represents methyl or H). EXAMPLE:(Methylnorbornenylcarboxypropyl)trimethoxysilane. USE:Useful as a silane coupling agent having superior properties as a surface- treating agent for a reinforcing material such as glass fiber, is suitable as members used in cars, etc. PREPARATION:(Meth)acrylsilanes are reacted with cyclopentadiene at a theoretical molar ratio of 1:1 in an inert atmosphere at a reaction temperature of 100-140 deg.C for a reaction period of 1-4hr.
