PURPOSE: To prevent the blurring of an image at the time of transferring and to shorten the working time of a device by controlling attaching/detaching timing with a cleaning blade and the intermediate transfer belt of an entrance seal.

CONSTITUTION: An abutting action on the cleaning blade 22-2 and the intermediate transfer body 19 of the entrance seal 22-4 is completed by the start of a second transfer process using a paper transfer bias roller 23-1 as a second transfer means, after a first transfer process with respect to the intermediate transfer belt 19 by a transfer bias roller as a first transfer means is completed. In the second transfer process using the paper transfer bias roller 23-1, an abutting state on the cleaning blade 22-2 and the intermediate transfer belt 19 of the entrance seal 22-4 is maintained, so that the blurring of the image never occurs. The abutting action on the cleaning blade 22-2 and the intermediate transfer body 19 of the entrance seal 22-4 is completed by the start of the next first transfer process, after the second transfer process is completed.
