Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable two-stage operation while a process for breaking an armour and a process by extracting the broken armour are divided by equalizing the maximum stroke of one end of a lever which is supported pivotally in the center of the end part of a holder main body to a stroke required to break the armour of the armour removal part. CONSTITUTION:The armour removal part 40 is made to abut on a holder 76 and the coated optical fiber 10 is clamped by the holder 76 and armour removal part 40. Then when the lever 100 is turned as shown by an arrow F, a bearing 102 at the upper end of the lever 100 presses the end surface of the lower clamp part 100 of the armour removal part 40 to the right to let the armour removal part 40 leave the holder 76. When the lever 100 is turned to its maximum, the armour removal part is pushed right by the maximum stroke l of the upper end and the jacket is broken by blades 60 and 60. Then the armour removal part is drawn right by the hand and moved right along a guide 86 to draw the broken jacket 14 out of the end part of the bare fiber 12 slowly.
