Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the troubles of the liability to cause the residual cissing of a top-coating on a recess pattern layer having liquid-repelling action and the printing troubles to fail in getting a matte-tone (delustered tone) recess pattern layer in the production of a matched-pattern steric decorative paper.

CONSTITUTION: A recess pattern layer is formed with a thermosetting ink containing a liquid repellent on a paper substrate impregnated or blended with a resin. A top coating is applied to the whole surface of the paper to repel the top coating at the surface of the recess pattern layer and obtain a matched- pattern steric decorative paper having relief pattern on the surface. In the above process, the thermosetting ink containing the liquid repellent is kneaded with a porous silica to form a porous recess pattern layer. The porous silica has an average particle diameter of 0.2-1.2μm.
